Valentina Colonna was born in Turin in 1990. She published in 2010 her first collection of poems Dimenticato suono (Manni) and in 2015 she released her new work La cadenza sospesa (Nino Aragno Editore). She stood out in several poetry competitions and in July 2014 she was presented as an emerging poet at Park Poetry Festival – 2014 (Rimini – Italy), for the section Letters to a Young Poet and at The Words of the mountain Festival  (Smerillo – Fm – Italy) by Davide Rondoni who also dedicated an episode of In which way the world goes (a poetry program aired on RTV San Marino) to her and Giorgio Caproni. Since 2016 she is promoted by Versopolis - where poetry lives, European poetry platform supported by the Creative Europe program of the European Union.

In 2013 she graduated with honors in Ancient Literature at the University of Turin where she gained a master’s degree in Linguistics with honors and printing dignity, with an experimental thesis in Phonetics entitled "Prosody of Congedo del viaggiatore cerimonioso. Comparative analysis of twelve readings". In July 2017 she won the Ph.D. in Digital Humanities (Linguistics, Applied Linguistics and Onomastic curriculum) at the University of Genoa, in collaboration with the University of Turin. Her research project is focused on the prosody of Italian poetry.

After gaining her Master’s degree in Piano in 2011 with Luciana Bigazzi and specializing with Ramin Bahrami and Paul Badura-Skoda, Valentina focused on the Baroque repertoire: she studied Harpsichord with Béatrice Martin and Luca Guglielmi at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) of Barcelona (Spain). On June 2014, with her final concert of solo harpsichord at L'Auditori of Barcelona and with her thesis about the rhetoric in the first three Bach sarabandes (BWV 825-BWV 827), she earned her Master’s Degree in interpretation of the ancient music, at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC). Her thesis was published in the catalan Recercat.

Many Italian festivals invited her as a guest (from the International Festival of Poetry in Genoa to the World Music Day - Zucchelli Foundation (BO) and the World Voice Day - University of Turin). In 2017 her poetry debuts abroad in Austria, Germany and Spain: Literatur & Wein Festival in Krems (Vienna - Austria) and Hausacher LeseLenz Festival (Germany) had her as Italian poet, publishing Wo Lyrik Zuhause ist. Valentina Colonna (Aramo Editions, Vienna) and Gedichte. Poems. Wo Lyrik Zuhause ist. Where poetry lives  (Leselenz, 2017). Spanish composers Fran Barajas and Martí Carreras wrote music on her texts that were played by the ensemble "Cadenze sospese" (in honor of her book) in Barcelona at the Reial Académia de Belles Arts "Sant Jordi”.

Her lyrics appeared on Versopolis “The European Review of Poetry, Books and Culture”, La Stampa, magazines, scores, CDs, anthologies, literary sites. She has been reviewd on several national newspapers, including Corriere della Sera and Avvenire, and also by Vatican Radio and Classic Radio.

In 2015 she was a member of the organizing committee for the Voice World Day conference: The voice - The original social media (University of Turin and University Laboratory of Experimental Phonetics Arturo Genre). In the same year she was also invited by Vatican Radio to write and conduct six episodes on Poetic Music: the rhetoric of the Baroque for the program The arpeggio. She also deviced and conducted entirely for Vatican Radio the new program The words of the music.

In collaboration with the N.C.M. New Classic Music, she is a piano teacher in various educational projects. She collaborates with in the program of Generoso Urciuoli Vernissage, as an expert of classic music history.
